Ely started off as a railroad town, then it was remade into a mining center and now it’s fast becoming a huge tourism attraction for a lot of people who seek beauty and serenity for their vacations. With a meager population of just around 4500, Ely promises you absolute peace of mind. Route 93 and Route 50 are two best ways to get to Ely as it is built right at their junction. Many recreational venues such as Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park, Cave Mountain State Park, Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park and Great Basin National Park are just an hour’s drive from Ely. Since Ely offers cheap accommodation and home-cooked dining facilities, it has fast become a base for tourists who want to explore the surrounding areas. Located in east central Nevada, the climate here is about as good as it gets anywhere else.
Ely also has a host of other activities like the California National Historic Trail and the Pony Express National Historic Trail which are both exciting and educating.

For more details on these activities please contact:
Celtic Festival in Nevada gives you a chance to mingle with people of different backgrounds and ages and enjoy eventful days of music, sports, dance, history and culture.

The first Celtic Festival and Marketplace took place in 1996. In the late 1980s a radio show named Celtic Cadence became very popular among the listeners. Seeing that popularity some Celtic concerts and fundraising events were organized and got same attention from the cowed. Then a decision was made to take the whole thing to the next level and this Celtic Festival and Marketplace is a result of that.

In this event the regional musicians, dancers and pageantry performers will perform. There will be some living history displays in camp settings. There will be some Scottish athletic demonstrations. There will be separate fun and entertainment area for kids and a huge marketplace for everyone.

Of course the music and dancing will be the main attraction where some famous and talented artists will perform. Among them will be Solas, Cathie Ryan, Enter the Haggis, Vishten, James Keelaghan and Molly’s Revenge. They all have different backgrounds and different styles. That is the recipe for an entertaining and enjoyable show.

Fishing can be a fun experience. Whether you are already into fishing or want to try it out for the first time, this fall can be the right time for you. In late September and October when the water temperature starts to fall and the wind feels crisp and clean, you can enjoy some exceptional fishing experience.

If you would rather stay a little closer to Reno, you can visit Pyramid lake which is some thirty eight miles away. Lahaton Cutthroat Trout and Sacramento Perch are the main fish types. Or you can choose to go to walker lake, which s a jewel of the desert. Lahaton Cutthroat Trout is the main fish here. About 130 miles from Reno.
